Man stabbed on Red Line platform in River North

A 37-year-old man was stabbed with a sharp object while at a Red Line subway station in River North late Thursday.The victim was standing on the platform at the Grand Avenue stop, 521 N. State St., when a man he doesn’t know approached, displayed a sharp object and attacked him shortly before midnight, police said. The man, who suffered a puncture wound to his left triceps, was taken in fair condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. It wasn’t clear if the attacker was arrested. Area 3 detectives are investigating.
