The mayor acknowledged it’s a big change for New Yorkers, who have for decades been allowed to pile their trash curbside.
“It's nice to be able to look out into the crowd and see a lot of different faces than what I see at a NASCAR race,” Wallace said Friday in Douglass Park.

Some small business owners said they plan to close during the two-day event, but others are excited about the race and the boost in pedestrian traffic that could bring more sales.
