The family of Eduardo Uvaldo, one of 7 people killed in the mass shooting at a July 4, 2022, parade, filed suit Friday, alleging gun maker Smith & Wesson marketed AR-15-style rifles to teens.
The service was largely a celebration of the 73-year-old’s legacy in multiple law enforcement agencies, including being one of the first Black members of the CPD bomb squad and one of the longest-serving members of the team.
Marquan Jones, 17, was ordered held in custody while awaiting trial in the slaying of Larry Neuman in West Garfield Park. Another teen, Lazarious Watt, was arrested last week, charged and is also being held pending trial.
