The Chicago Illusions building gets a tax break because it has two apartments — even though it appears those units are used as part of the business.
Sterling Bay's Lincoln Park project has drawn criticism from local Ald. Scott Waguespack for its height and parking but it still cleared the Chicago Plan Commission on Thursday.
“As much as it sucks to get married in the middle of a cicada awakening, it is definitely memorable,” said Bree Aguilar, who had an outdoor ceremony earlier this month.
That makes nine schools renamed since a Chicago Sun-Times investigation found 30 schools were named for slaveholders, and schools named after white people — mostly men — vastly outnumbered those named for African Americans, Latinos and indigenous people.
