A woman was in the 7300 block of North Rogers Avenue about 8:15 p.m. when someone in a passing car fired at her. She was hospitalized in good condition. In February, four people were shot, one fatally, in a shooting at the park.
Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said the deputies were shot while responding to a report that someone inside the home was threatening to kill themselves or others. He said the suspect also was shot.
The three were shot just before 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 5900 block of South Western Avenue. They all were hospitalized in good condition.
Witnesses at federal court hearings worried that including traffic stops in a consent decree originally issued in 2019 to reform the Chicago Police Department would actually slow attempts to curb the controversial practice.
