A 47-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman are accused of attacking the victim while he slept in the Amtrak rotunda beneath Madison Square Garden.
The WABC host says the comments were “over the top.”
He is the second person police have arrested in the incident, in which two officers were pelted with snowballs.
Police are charging the man with murder, manslaughter and weapons possession.
